    U.S. Smartphone Sales: 4Q2011 Update

    Based on iGR’s handset market model, total handset sales in 4Q11 reached approximately 39.53 million. Smartphones are likely to account for approximately 73 percent of total handsets. Apple’s iPhone 4S debut in October and subsequent reduced price of older iPhone models, new Windows Phone Mango devices and an increasing number of Android handsets, impacted the quarter’s results.
